Now that you have your custom nation flushed out, go to your save games on the left of the screen and find your ironman save file, and select it. Go to the Remove Cores exploit to read more about the functions of this exploit. You can use this to weaken your war targets early and put a strain on their economies and admin points. All land that you did not give your normal game save file that you also add to your custom nation will have their cores removed. When you’ve added all of the territory to your custom nation, you’re ready for the next step.Īs an additional note, you can also conduct the Remove Cores exploit from this step by giving your custom nation land from other countries that you wish to weaken. Adding a province your country already has will remove the core your country has on that province. This part requires a bit of memory, otherwise go here to see a map of each province in the game as of 1444.Īdd to your custom nation only the provinces that your nation does not begin with at the start of the game. Go over to the bottom right and click the custom nation button. You should see now your big blob on the map. Now that you’re back on the menu, go into Single Player and click on your normal game save file.
Do note that releasing multiple vassals this way as opposed to a single vassal and feeding them land can cause significant amounts of liberty desire due to the compounding nature of that metric. As Castille, giving yourself the 9 provinces in the Gascony region of France, then releasing Gascony as a vassal can significantly weaken your Northern rival and give you a powerful vassal/march. One nation that I’ve used this trick with is Gascony. If you wish to give yourself even more power, but do not want the added over-extension, you can give yourself land that is the core of a releasable nation, and additional land that you can feed them so that they bear the cost of coring it. Also note that all provinces you give yourself with this exploit will be stated when loading into the ironman game, so un-stating them will also reduce the core cost reduction by 50%. By completing missions for permanent claims, you can reduce that core creation cost by 25%. Giving yourself additional land will cause you significant over extension and require you to core the land yourself. The reason this is beneficial is because this exploit only allows you to reclaim cores without penalty.

Also check your missions or decisions to see if your country can complete a mission or decision to gain free cores or claims on additional provinces. Look at the diplomatic map mode to see which provinces your country has existing cores/claims on.
